The exhibition has safely arrived and is set up and ready to go at Margaret River Heart (hub of entertainment arts & regional tourism)

Thanks go to Judith Wilton and her team for setting up the exhibition this week. It will be open Monday 5/12/22 and is looking good!

Note that Heart is closed 23rd December and reopening on 4th January 2023. Also the building is open 10am-4pm weekdays unless there is a show, movie or other event on in the building. Check website for further details

stitched and bound is in its final week at Lake Grace and will be moving on to the next stop – Margaret River. See below for more information of the Margaret River HEART leg of the Regional Tour.

The exhibition will open on 5 December and, subject to closing over Christmas period, will be open until 20 January so do visit if you are in the area over the summer holidays.

Opening Event – Lake Grace

Fabulous opening of the 2022 Stitched and Bound exhibition at the Lake Grace Regional Artspace yesterday afternoon.

A good crowd of 30 people came along to view the exhibition, have afternoon tea and took the opportunity to have a close look at the beautifully crafted quilts.

The opening speech was given by Tania Spencer

Don’t forget the exhibition is only at LG until 28th November so come early and don’t miss out

Last Week at Midland

The Stitched and Bound exhibition in on show at MJAC for one final week before embarking on a tour of 5 regional galleries across the state. Featuring 45 works by 38 textile artists that challenge conventional quilting, for textile enthusiasts this exhibition is not be missed!

Stitched and Bound is on display at MJAC until 5 November. ⁠

Opening Night

It was an exciting opening event at the Midland Junction Art Centre last Friday evening

The evening began with drinks and mingling, then MJAC Director Jennifer Haynes introduced Leanne Bray as guest speaker, followed by Marilyn Clarke Murphy who thanked all involved in the exhibition, artists and volunteers alike.

The exhibition is on till 5th November. Please take the time to visit and support our local textile and quilt artists. Remember to pop into the Veranda Studio to see the the Artist in Residence too!

Workshops at Midland Junction Art Centre

In conjunction with the stitched and bound exhibition, Midland (MJAC) is offering a number of workshops with WAQA teachers.

The first will be ‘Boro – the Art of Japanese Patchwork’ with Phil Thomas in the Verandah Studio on 9th September 2022.
