Recently the stitched and bound exhibition travelled to its first stop Esperance.
Which had about 40 visitors on opening night! What a wonderful start to the regional
tour of the 24/25 exhibition. Some comments from that exhibition are below.
From here the exhibition will travel to the Goldfields then further afield. Looking
forward to the reaction there for this wonderful exhibition.
We had a wonderful night with approximately 40 in attendance, including
representatives from Esperance Bay Rotary club and Michael and Gillian Florisson
(sponsors).
The Cannery is honoured to have this exhibition in Esperance, art director
Marcia Leonard said not just because it features textile artists from all over
WA but especially because the selected works in two by Esperance artists.
“we were absolutely blown away with it all so of course when the proposal
came up to the board they said yes”
A few photos from the opening night in Esperance

It was a wonderful exhibition opening night last night at the Midland Junction Arts Centre (MJAC).
As attendees arrived they were met with a drink, name tag and invited to mingle. Then MJAC Director Jenny Haynes welcomed everyone and introduced American Quiltmaker Maria Shell who opened the exhibition with a lovely speech. She was followed by Marilyn Clarke Murphy who thanked all involved in the exhibition especially the artists.

The exhibition is on at MJAC until the 14th July. Please take the time to visit and support our local textile and quilt artists. Don’t forget to drop by the Veranda Studio to see the the Artists in Residence at work!

If you received your letter, please ensure you reply to the email acknowledging receipt of the letter as the committee wants to be sure all entrants are aware of the outcome of their entry.

The Midland Junction Arts Centre has been recently refurbished and looks amazing!
This year the stitched and bound exhibition will have more space as it will include the corridor all visitors to the centre pass through.
The exhibition opens to the public on 18 May and runs through to 14 July.
Just a gentle reminder that entries for stitched and bound 2024/25 close on the 4 February.
There is still time to finish that work of art…
